Former Fort Atkinson Father William A. Nolan Charged With 6 Felony Counts Of Sexual Assault Of A Child Under 16

Nolan facing life in prison for sexually assaulting a 13-year-old male church participant.

Fort Atkinson, WI - On Thursday, retired Father William A. Nolan, 64, of Madison was charged with 6 felony counts for 2nd-degree sexual assault of a child under 16 in Jefferson County., according to the Fort Atkinson Police Department. If convicted on all charges, Nolan will face up to 40 years in prison for each count and up $100,000 in fines for each count. Nolan was freed on a $50,000 signature bond and his next preliminary court hearing was set for June 5.
Nolan allegedly sexually assaulted a 13-year-old male church participant at least 100 times at his rectory''s office, church, altar boy room, his residence and other places, which the assaults occurred within the period between 2006-2010. The victim was a student at the St. Joseph's Catholic School in Fort Atkinson, according to the criminal complant.
