Rise Up Leadership Convention Convenes In Washington, D.C., Wisconsin Delegation Among 1,000 Attending

Washington, D.C. - Citizen Action of Wisconsin (CAW) announced that a delegation of nearly 30 members from the state have arrived in Washington, D.C. to attend a three-day leadership conference at the Rise Up Convention sponsored by the Citizen Action's national organizing network, People's Action.
CAW has more than 800 members in Wisconsin  including a Hispanic Caucus, Acción Ciudadana de Wisconsin (ACW) with Luz Sosa as the community organizer. Members of the ACW are among the delegation attending the convention in D.C.
Citizen Action of Wisconsin is an issue focused coalition of individuals and organizations committed to achieving social, economic, and environmental justice.
According to the People's Action, an estimated 1,000 grassroots organizers and progressive allies will gather at the Rise Up Convention in D.C. under a new movement to take the country back and stand against Trump's policies, which create hate and division in the nation.
People's Action released the following information, that the Rise Up convention will mark and build upon the first 100 days of resistance to the Donald Trump presidency, People's Action will be in the nation's capital, convening more than 1,000 activist leaders from around the country. The People's Action Founding Convention is where we will unveil a new political force comprised of people united against the Trump-Ryan-McConnell agenda and for a bold vision of an economy and democracy that work for everyone, not just the rich and powerful, big corporations, or purveyors of hate.

At Rise Up 2017 we will..

• Build a Long-Term Agenda that points the way to transformative change and guides our campaigns now

• Go on the offense at every level – from cities to statehouses to the halls of Congress

• Commit to stopping the attacks on people of color, immigrants, women, Muslims and LGBTQ people

• Gather with friends and allies to celebrate what we have won and the movement we are building together
