Missing Woman, Alma Angélica Del Real Galindo Was Strangled By Male Friend

Alberto Cruz confessed to police that he killed Del Real Galindo and left her body in a remote area in Marshall County.

South Bend, Indiana - On May 20, Alberto Cruz, 24, was arrested by South Bend police in connection with the murder of Alma Angélica Del Real Galindo, 22. Del Real Galindo went missing on April 12 after leaving a night club and apparently was left at her home, according to Cruz. Cruz was seen leaving the nightclub with Del Real Galindo.
Cruz also helped search for Del Real Galindo who was reported missing, according to police.
Police checked Cruz's cellphone records and found that Cruz was in Marshall County at the same time Del Real Galindo's cellphone signal was traced too at time she went missing. 
Del Real Galindo's body was found in a remote road in Marshall County after Cruz confessed to police that he had killed her. Cruz took police where he left Del Real Galindo's body. She was strangled to death.
On May 22, Cruz was charged with one felony count of murder for Del Real Galindo's homicide and is being held without bond. He pleaded not guilty on May 26 during a court hearing and is expected back in court on June 8.
A funeral service was held on Sunday for Del Real Galindo and her body will be returned to Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico where she was originally from, according to the Mexican Consulate in Chicago. Her mother will arrive on Tuesday from Mexico to take her daughter's body back to Guadalajara.
