Wisconsin State Trooper Trevor Casper Killed In Gunfight With Bank Robber

Wisconsin State Trooper Casper and bank robber involved in gun fight, both were fatally shot.

Fond du Lac, WI - On Tuesday, Wisconsin State Trooper Trevor Casper, 21, of Kiel was fatally shot after getting into a gun fight with a suspected bank robber, Steven Timothy Snyder, 37, of Michigan. According to court records, Snyder was arrested and convicted in 1996 for disorderly conduct after a group of skinheads, which he was a member off got into an altercation with Blacks and Hispanics in Fond du Lac.
Casper noticed a vehicle used in the Bank of Florence robbery in the Village of Wausaukee in Marinette County and pursued Snyder. 
Trooper Casper and the suspect engaged in a gun battle near the Pick 'N Save, which ended with both getting fatally shot. Casper had graduated as a trooper on December 19, 2014.
Police are investigating whether Snyder killed Thomas C. Christ, 59, whose body was found near an abandon vehicle used in an earlier bank robbery just East of Wausaukee, according to police.
