Martinez Jr. who suffers from bipolar and schizophrenia has been charged with two felony counts for wielding a knife, chasing and threatening officers.

Milwaukee, WI - On Friday, Alfonso Paura Martínez Jr., 26, was charged with two felony counts for 1st-degree recklessly endangering safety. Martínez Jr. suffers from bipolar and schizophrenia, according to family members. Martínez Jr. was ordered to undergo an examination by the state forensic unit to determine, if he is competent to stand trial. The court found probable cause to charged Martínez Jr. with two felony counts for reckless endangerment.
Martínez did not attend a court hearing on Friday, because he smashed and injured his head in a holding door cell, according to his court appointed attorney.
Martínez Jr. is accused of chasing several Milwaukee police officers with a butcher knife and threatening to kill them on Monday, when the officers did a welfare check at the 3200 block of N. Richards.
Last Monday, police discovered the bodies of Alfonso "Poncho" Paura Martínez, 55, and Manuel Paura Martínez, 58, at the North side home. Martínez Jr. who is Poncho's son was taken into custody after wielding a knife at several officers where the bodies were found inside the home.
Investigators say, that both Poncho and Manuel who are brothers had been killed days before being discovered by police. An ongoing investigation continues whether Martínez Jr. was responsible for the deaths of both his father and uncle.
