Geyser And Weier Found Competent To Stand Trial For Leutner's Stabbing

Geyser and Weier to stand trial for stabbing 12-year-old friend after both were found competent.

Waukesha, WI - On Thursday, both Morgan E. Geyser, 12, and Anissa E. Weier, 12, we're found competent to stand trial for one felony count each for first-degree attempted intentional homicide and party to a crime for the May 31 stabbing of Payton Isabella Leutner, 12, at a Waukesha park.  Geyser was ordered to be held at the Washington County Juvenile facility and Weier was ordered to be held at the Waukesha County Juvenile Center. A preliminary hearing for Geyser and Weier was set for February 18, 2015. 

If convicted, both Geyser and Weier are facing up to 65-years in prison each and are being held each on a $500,000 cash bond.

Their competency findings on Thursday won't be challenged by either defense attorneys, according to court records.

Both Geyser and Weier, planned to murder Leutner for months. Leutner was invited to a birthday slumber party by Geyser. They later lured Leutner to Davids Park and stabbed Leutner 19 times and then left their best friend to die as a sacrificed murder to Slenderman. Leutner managed to crawl out of the wooded area and was found by a bicyclist who called 911. Geyser and Weier later confessed to police that they wanted Leutner dead because they were influence by Slenderman, a fictional character. They told police, that they wanted people to believe in the fictional character.
