Miranda best known for "Mi Piquito de Oro and Junta Tus Garras" Tejano style songs.

Seguin, Texas - On Wednesday, legendary Tejano style all star Carlos Miranda, 73, also known as "El Chivo" passed away in San Antonio peacefully, according to family members. Miranda is originally from Nueva Rosita, Coahuila, Mexico. In the early 1960's, Miranda crossed into the U.S. to follow his musical talent dream.
He first joined Joey López y Los Guadalupanos and five years later he went on to joined Los Pavos Reales. Miranda finally began to go solo and his name Carlos Miranda caught on quickly as Tejanos in the mid 1970's became attracted and enjoyed his unique style of Tex-Mex music.
Miranda was a popular singer and song writer, which radio stations and TV programs throughout Texas and Mexico played his music. His style of music then caught on throughout the U.S., including Chicago and the midwest.
He recorded songs for Freddie Records, Zarape and CBS Records. Miranda's popular song hits also included "Nesecito Hablar con Dios," "El Reniego" and "El Minero."
Miranda had been ill for the last five years, but had continued to strive with his love of his music. He will be missed, but his music lives on and numerous of his music videos can be found on YouTube.
He was married twice and is survived by his current wife Bertha Carrillo Miranda and children from the first and second marriage.
Funeral services for Carlos Miranda will be held on Monday, May 6, from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Castillo Mission Funeral Home, 520 N. General McMullen in San Antonio, Texas. Miranda will be cremated, according to family members.
