Milwaukee, WI - On Thursday, Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge Jeffrey A. Wagner sentenced Eduardo Ivañez, 18, aka, "Smokey or Lalo" to life in prison with eligibility of parole in 2065. Ivañes will be eligible for parole when he turns 75-years-old, including 4 years in prison and 4 years extended supervision for the second count and must pay $3,975 in restitution. In November, he was convicted for two felony counts of 1st-degree intentional homicide and hiding a corpse for the April 13, 2012 cold blooded and brutal murder of Stephanie Romero, 15, at 2512 W. Rogers St.
Ivañez, an alleged gang member showed no remorse, but confessed to police that he had sex with Romero and then strangled her until she became unresponsive. Afterwards, he stabbed her while she was still alive inside a vacant house on Rogers St.
Ivañez then showcased the body to friends and admitted to police he wanted to have sex with Romero's body after caressing her breasts.
Romero's body was discovered a week later after some students told a teacher about the body. The teacher then called police.
