November 30, 2012

New York,  New York - On November 14, New York Police Officer Larry DePrimo, 25, was unexpectedly photographed by Jennifer Foster of Florence, Arizona when the officer gave a pair of socks and all-weather boots to a bare foot (shoeless) Manhattan homeless man. The night was cold and Officer DePrimo was wearing several pair of wool socks and combat boots and he was still cold.
When he saw the barefoot near Times Square on a sidewalk on Seventh Avenue near 44th Street, Officer DePrimo felt compelled to do something. He went and bought thermal socks and boots for the man for $75 and even helped put the socks and boots on the man.
The man thanked DePrimo for the kindness and told him that he never owned a pair of shoes after DePrimo asked him, if he would like a pair of boots. DePrimo also invited him for coffee, but the man declined and went on his way. The homeless man was not identified.
DePrimo's photo was placed on the NYPD Facebook on Tuesday and then it went viral on Facebook. A friend called DePrimo about the photo being posted on the NYPD Facebook page and that had gone viral.
On Thursday, Police Commissioner Ray Kelly decided to honor Officer DePrimo of Holbrook for his act of human kindness by giving him a set of cuff links. DePrimo never expected anything in return for his kindness.

Democratic Congressional Hispanic Caucus To Introduce Their Version Of Comprehensive Immigration Reform

Democratic federal legislators to present document detailing their version of immigration reform.

By H. Nelson Goodson
November 26, 2012

Washington, D.C. - On Monday, federal legislative members of the Democratic Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC) announced that they will introduce on Wednesday a document of their version of comprehensive immigration reform at the Capitol Visitors Center. CHC members, Chairman Rep. Charles Conzalez (D-TX), Chair-elect Rep. Ruben Hinojoza (D-TX), Sen. Robert Menendez (D-NJ) and Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-IL), Chair of the Immigration Task Force Committee will present a proposal called "One Nation, Principles on Immigration Reform and Our Commitment to the American Dream."
The proposal will focus on CHC's commitment to continue to work toward common-sense, comprehensive immigration reform that serves America's interests, promotes fairness and the rule of law and contributes to our economic well-being, according to a news release from the CHC.
The November national surge of Hispanic voters in the country that gave Democrats the White House by reelecting President Obama has placed immigration reform a priority for both Democrats and Republicans.
On November 14, President Barack H. Obama who was reelected also announced that immigration reform will be dealt with after his January's inauguration. He would like a bill that would focus on border security, enforcement including stiffer penalties for employers thay hire undocumented workers, provide a pathway for legalization for millions of immigrants and earned citizenship for DREAMers. DREAMers, undocumented children brought into the country illegally at no fault of their own by their non-citizen parents.
There are an estimated 1.7 million undocumented immigrants that arrived in the country as children.
Last August, the Obama administration and Homeland Security Department enacted an administrative policy allowing eligible DREAMERs to apply for deferred action and pay fees to get federal work permits and legal paper work to apply for state licenses. Under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, an estimated 20,000 work permits have been issued to non-citizen DREAMers, since August. The Obama deferred action policy for eligible DREAMers will continue into 2013, since Obama was reelected for a second term.
Obama's administration in the last four years has deported more than 4 million non-citizens than any former administration. Most of those deported, including U.S. Veterans were removed from the country for minor crimes.
On Tuesday, the Illinois Democratic controlled state legislature will introduce a bill when it convenes to allow non-citizens to seek an Illinois driver license. The driver license bill will grant more than 250,000 of non-citizens in the state of Illinois eligibility to apply for licenses.
Illinois once it approves a license bill for illegal immigrants in the state would join both the state of Washington and New Mexico in granting licenses for non-citizens.
On January 1, 2013, California will grant driver licenses to immigrants with a federal work permit.

Barraza Bocanegra Led A Faction Of The United Mexican Cartels

Sergio Rafael Barraza Bocanegra

Deceased Barraza Bocanegra was also wanted for a double homicide, including the Marisela Escobedo Ortiz murder in Chihuahua.

By H. Nelson Goodson
November 23, 2012

Zacatecas, Zacatecas, Mexico - The Mexican military reported that it killed Sergio Rafael Barraza Bocanegra, 25, aka, "El Piwi or El Comandante Bambino" during a confrontation that resulted in his death, including three other men in state of Zacatecas. Barraza Bocanegra was wanted for the murders of Rubí Marisol Fraire Escobedo, 16, on June 2009 and her mother, activist Marisela Escobedo Ortiz in December 2010. Escobedo Ortiz was killed for seeking justice for her daughter's homicide.
Barraza Bocanegra originally from Cuidad Juarez, Chihuahua died in the municipality of Pánfilo Natera near the city of Zacatecas on November 16, according to Arturo Nahle García, the state Attorney General of Zacatecas. García said, that Barraza Bocanegra's body was finally identified on Wednesday by his wife of two months. He fathered three children with his new bride.
On Thursday, local, state and Mexican federal authorities went to get additional evidence to confirm that Barraza Bocanegra had been killed. Military personnel had been guarding the body for several days for fear it would disappear from the state run morgue at the Public Ministry building in Zacatecas.
Authorities from the state of Chihuahua were also present on Thursday to recover DNA, photos, fingerprints and forensic evidence from Barraza Bocanegra's body. The state of Chihuahua had several warrants against Barraza Bocanegra for the Escobedo Ortiz homicides.
Barraza Bocanegra's body will be released to his wife once authorities finish their forensic evidence gathering.
Barraza Bocanegra had been living in the municipality of Soledad Graciano Sánchez in San Luis Potosi and constantly traveled to the municipality of Fresnillo Zacatecas where his wife is originally from, García reported.
Barraza Bocanegra was a member of the Zetas and when recently the organization fractured in Zacatecas, he joined the United Mexican Cartels (UMC) criminal organization. Barraza Bocanegra led a group from the UMC and operated in Villanueva, Tabasco and Jaoquín Amaro, according to García.
Barraza Bocanegra allegedly planned and ordered Escobedo Ortiz killed to keep her quiet after more than a year of organizing marches, rallies for justice and accusing state authorities of not doing enough to bring Barraza Bocanegra to justice.
Last October, the Governor of Chihuahua, César Duarte had confirmed the arrest of José Enriquez Jiménez Zavala, 29, aka, "El Wicked" for the December 16, 2010 homicide of activist Marisela Escobedo Ortiz in front of the state goverment building. The Escobedo Ortiz murder was caught on video surveillance camera outside the government building.
Escobedo Ortiz spend weeks outside the government building in an attempt to bring justice for her daughter Rubí Marisol Fraire Escobedo, 16, who was murdered by her boyfriend Barraza Bocanegra who remained a fugitive.
Zavala was taken into custody on October 4, in Chihuahua city the Capitol of Chihuahua by the Chihuahua State Preventive Police. He was traveling in a vehicle with his wife and two children including another man. Both Zavala and the man had handguns and were confiscated by police.
Zavala led a gang known as the Aztecas that are associated with La Linea, the armed branch for the Juárez Cartel. Zavala apparently confessed that he killed Escobedo Ortiz to keep her quiet by orders from Jésus Antonio Chávez, aka, "El Tarzan." Chávez thought that Escobedo Ortiz was putting to much heat on La Linea for pursuing justice for her daughter's homicide and seeking for state authorities to search and arrest Barraza Bocanegra.
Ricardo Escobedo, a witness to his sister's murder told family members that Zavala was not the murder suspect, but that Andy Alonso Barraza Bocanegra, Sergio's younger brother had killed Marisela Escobedo Ortiz, according to Juan Faire Escobedo, Ricardo's nephew. Andy Alonso Barraza Bocanegra is a U.S. citizen and living in Texas.
Barraza Bocanegra was sentenced to 50 years in prison in absentia for Escobedo's homicide.
In 2009, Barraza Bocanegra was arrested, confessed to killing Escobedo and than burning her body in a pig ranch. He led authorities to the crime scene. But a tribunal of three state judges released Barraza Bocanegra believed to be a member of the Zetas for a lack of evidence, despite his confession and leading police to where he burned Escobedo's body.
The three judges later resigned after a public outcry of injustice and to avoid alleged corruption charges. A federal judge vacated their ruling and convicted Barraza Bocanegra in absentia.
Last December, state authorities had reported that Héctor Miguel Flores Morán, aka, "El Payasso" who was killed in September 2011 had been the actual killer of Escobedo Ortiz, but a composite photo drawn by description details provided by Escobedo Ortiz' brother did not match the facial appearance to Morán.
Police did recover a Sig Sauer Model P239, 9mm Caliber gun from Morán, which forensic and ballistic tests showed it was the handgun used in the Escobedo Ortiz homicide.
Mexican authorities had offered $5 million pesos ($384,616 U.S.) from $500,000 pesos ($41,000 U.S.) it had previously offered for information leading to the arrest of Barraza Bocanegra.

NLRB Upheld That Palermo Villa Inc. Violated Federal Labor Laws

Palermo Villa Inc. must rehire a significant number of striking employees who are Hispanic and pay back wages, the National Labor Relations Board decided.

By H. Nelson Goodson
November 21, 2012

Milwaukee, WI - On Wednesday, the regional National Larbor Relations Board (NLRB) announced that Palermo Villa Inc. violated federal labor laws when it fired nine of 84 employees after going on strike concerning wages, safety work related concerns and trying to form a union at Palermo Pizza. The NLRB ordered Palermo Villa Inc. to rehire a significant number of striking employees that were terminated back in June and to pay back wages, according to Voces de la Frontera (VDLF).
VDLF confirmed on Wednesday at a news conference that it will appeal the NLRB decision with the Washington, D.C. office due to the lack of issuing a wrongful labor complaint against Palermo Pizza by the regional NLRB office. Palermo representatives said, they will rehire nine employees who crossed the picket line, but won't rehire 75 others. VDLF confirmed it will continue the fight to get all the employees rehired.
NLRB regional director, Irving Gottschalk determined that Palermo Villa engaged in "retaliation" by threatening to terminate multiple employees who crossed the picket line to join the strike. At least nine employees were fired when they joined 75 other striking employees. Palermo violated federal labor laws by threatening to fire employees for joining a strike and Gottschalk ordered Palermo to reinstate those workers with back pay.
Nine of the 84 striking employees who were fired will return to work and back wages dating back to early June will be paid. The NLRB decision clears the way for establishing and recognizing an employee union, thus possibly ending a seven month old strike and national boycott of Palermo Pizza products. But, VDLF is expected to continue the fight to get the rest of the former employees rehired and the boycott could linger longer.

Illinois Driver License Bill Expected In 2013 For Non-citizens

Bipartisan proposed bill allowing more than 250,000 of non-citizens to become eligible for Illinois driver licenses expected to be introduced by November 27.

By H. Nelson Gooson
November 20, 2012

Chicago, Illinois - On Tuesday, a bipartisan group of Illinois state legislators announced that a proposal (bill) to allow non-citizens to become eligible for driver licenses is expected to be introduced when the legislature convenes on November 27. The driver license bill will grant more than 250,000 of non-citizens in the state of Illinois eligibility to apply for licenses. Both state House Speaker, Michael Madigan (D) and state Senate President John Cullerton (D) support a measure to allow non-citizens to apply for license. Also, Illinois Governor Pat Quinn (D) and Chicago Mayor Rahn Emanuel (D), including former Republican Governor Jim Edgan and State Comptroller Judy Baar Topinka (D) support the measure to grant licenses to non-citizens.
The current surge of Hispanic voters in Illinois gave a majority to Democrats in state government. Some Republicans in the legislature have also joined Democrats in a bipartisan push to pass a measure allowing non-citizens to get licenses.
The Illinois Highway Safety Coalition reported that an estimated 80,000 accidents per year are caused by unlicensed and uninsured drivers. The total accident costs have reached about $650 million in damages, including $64 million in damages caused by non-citizens driving without licenses, according to the Saftey Coalition.
Illinois once it approves a license bill for illegal immigrants in the state would join both the state of Washington and New Mexico in granting licenses for non-citizens.
On January 1, 2013, California will grant driver licenses to immigrants with a federal work permit.

Poaching In Wisconsin Blamed On Poverty

Poverty stricken population in the state resort to deer poaching to feed their own families.

By H. Nelson Goodson
November 19, 2012

New Miner, Wisconsin - During opening day for gun hunting season, hunters near the New Miner area in Juneau County admitted that illegal poaching rampant throughout the year by population stricken with poverty trying to feed their families. No public assistance by the Governor Scott Walker's administration available to families living in poverty, to the unemployed and those no longer collecting state unemployment insurance benefits.
Area property owners found multiple garbage plastic bags containing bones from 26 deers stripped of their meat and the discovery was reported to the area DNR Warden and authorities.
A large portion of the people in Juneau County, especially those living in poverty stricken areas know that poaching is going on throughout the year to feed families and many know those families because they are either relatives or friends. But, no one is stepping up to expose the need to poach illegally to feed families.
Some hunters agreed that poaching to feed poverty stricken families in the area has been overlooked and no prosecutions have ever been imposed by authorities, according to several local hunters attending last Saturday's evening annual local church Hunters dinner in Nacedah. Should poverty stricken families continue to poach to feed their families in Wisconsin?

Greenfield Officer Young Resigned After Sexting Photo Of His Genitals To Jewelry Theft Suspect

Greenfield Police Officer Young quits job to avoid getting fired for inappropriate conduct with a jewelry theft suspect.

By H. Nelson Goodson
November 15, 2012

Greenfield, WI - The Greenfield Police Department (GPD) confirmed that a 29-year-old officer had resigned in early September after an investigation determined he engaged in inappropriate conduct violating department policy. The former officer was identified by a source as David Young, one of two officers who talked to a 22-year-old woman identified as JoAnne Fagan, suspected of jewelry theft.
Last August 24, a tip received by the GPD from a third party that a Greenfield officer had engaged in sexting (texting), which led to an internal investigation by the department.
Young was suspended and placed on administrative leave on August 26 with pay pending an investigation. The GPD internal investigation concluded on September 4 and Greenfield Police Chief Bradley Wentlandt confirmed that Young had sent explicit photos in nature of himself to a woman, who became distraught.
At first, she wouldn't cooperate with the internal investigation. The woman was actually convinced by Greenfield police investigators to cooperate, which she did.
Chief Wentlandt received the outcome results of the investigation determining Young had engaged in sexting. The investigation determined that Young and Fagan had agreed to keep in contact, which later led to consensual texting and to exchange photos. Fagan told investigators that Young had sent about a dozen lewd text messages and also wanted to have sex with her.
Young sent a final text photo of his genitals to Fagan after she sent him a photo of her wearing shorts.
Wentlandt decided to file a request to terminate Officer Young for violating the Greenfield Police Department rules and standards of conduct related to an inappropriate contact with a suspect. But, Young decided to resigned rather than face termination by the Greenfield Fire and Police Commission.
Young's inappropriate sexting violated the GPD standards of conduct policy for officers but, is not considered a crime.
Fagan was never charged for theft, according to Chief Wentlandt.

The Obama deferred action policy for eligible DREAMers will continue into 2013, since Obama was re-elected for a second term.
Obama's administration in the last four years has deported more than 4 million non-citizens than any former administration. Most of those deported, including U.S. Veterans were removed from the country for minor crimes.

Greenfield Police Officer Resigns After Explicit Text Photos Sent To Jewelry Theft Suspect

Officer quits before being fired for inappropriate conduct with a jewelry theft suspect.

By H. Nelson Goodson
November 13, 2012

Greenfield, WI - On Tuesday, the Greenfield Police Department (GPD) confirmed that a 29-year-old officer had resigned in early September after an investigation determined he engaged in inappropriate conduct violating department policy. The officer was one of two officers who talked to a woman suspected of jewelry theft.
The officer began to talk to the woman afterwards that led to consensual texting and to exchange photos. Last August 24, a tip received by the GPD from a third party that a Greenfield officer had engaged in sexting led to an internal investigation.
The officer was suspended on August 26 with pay. The internal investigation concluded on September 4 and Greenfield Police Chief Bradley Wentlandt confirmed that the officer had sent explicit photos in nature of himself to the woman, who became distraught. At first, she wouldn't cooperate with the internal investigation. The woman was actually convinced by Greenfield police investigators to cooperate, which she did.
When Chief Wentlandt received the outcome results of the investigation, he filed to terminate the officer in question for violating the Greenfield Police Department rules and standards of conduct related to an inappropriate contact with a suspect. But, the officer decided to resigned rather getting fired by the Greenfield Fire and Police Commission.

Virginia's boyfriend, Antonio Medina, 20, of Chicago, IL was also arrested and charged with one felony count of battery on a law enforcement officer.
The Terrazas' sisters left for Illinois on Monday and would not comment further about the arrests, according to their group management.
The Terrazas sisters were taken into custody after a scuffle broke out between a private security officer and a fan at the Agi-Civic Center on Sunday night when they were performing their first song.
The Okeechobee County District Attorney's Office is reviewing Sunday's night incident to see, if additional charges will be issued.
Marisol was arrested for shouting vulgarities to Deputies during a dance scuffle and Virginia for kicking a Deputy in the groin after he grabbed her while she attempted to keep Marisol from being detained. Medina was arrested for grabbing a Deputy, "at which the officer was sruck in the head with a can full of beer," Michele Bell, the OCSO Public Information Officer wrote in a news release.
Los Horóscopos de Durango had just began their first song and set when a scuffle erupted in the dance floor around 8:00 p.m. on Sunday. Bell in the news release stated, that there were 1,600 people in attendance when a fight between hired private security personnel and a patron erupted. Sheriff Deputies stepped in to help security to break up the scuffle.
Marisol stopped singing and began to curse the officers over a loud speakers, which showed an immediate effect of aggressive behavior from the crowd. She was ordered to stop or she would be arrested. She dared the officers to come up on stage and arrest her.
Deputies at the dance floor began to grab and push people around in the immediate area to control the crowd, according to fan video images taken and posted on YouTube.
Marisol from the stage told the Deputies and security to stop pushing and roughing up people (Mexicans) at the dance floor. A fan was tased by a security officer, triggering Marisol to insult the officers in both Spanish and English language vulgarities prompting Deputies to go up on stage and attempt to arrest Marisol, including her sister.
Fans then began to throw cans of beer and debris at Deputies on stage.
Both Marisol and Virginia fled from the stage and were later apprehended in a vehicle while attempting to leave the area.
The crowd exited the arena area and began to follow officers escorting the Terrazas' to a patrol car. The crowd also began to throw cans of beer, water bottles and drinks. At no time did either of the Terrazas sisters say or do anything to help stop or resolve the violent situation. A security officer was able to identify Luis Maldonado, as the suspect that hit an officer in the head with a can of beer, according to Bell. Maldonado, 25, of Port St. Lucie, FL was charged with aggravated battery to a law enforcement officer.
Sheriff Paul C. May phrased his Deputies for doing an outstanding job while facing the situation on Sunday. Sheriff May said, "I regret this happened in our County, but please do not take this as an apology for my Deputies' action. They did what they had to do to control the situation; there were approximately 1,600 people in attendance and large amounts of alcohol consumed. There were 8 Deputies on duty along with private security to control the crowd. There were 5 arrests after the fighting started. There were no injuries to patrons that we know off. One Deputy was struck in the groin and the head with a beer can and several more were hit with cans."
None of the Deputies suffered injuries that would keep them from returning to duty.

14 Mexican Federal Police Officers Charged For Attempted Murder Of Two Americans And Mexican Naval Officer

A Mexican federal judge issued warrants for 14 members of the Federal Police involved in the August attempted homicide of two U.S. Embassy workers and a Mexican naval officer near Huitzilac, Morelos.

By H. Nelson Goodson
November 9, 2012

Mexico City, Mexico - On Friday, the federal Mexican Attorney General's Office announced that a federal judge has issued arrest warrants for 14 members of the Federal Police stationed at the Tlalpan district station. The Federal Police officers allegedly attempted to kill two U.S. Embassy workers (CIA) and a Mexican naval captain on August 24, 2012.
The two Americans and a naval officer were driving along the Mexico-Cuernavaca federal highway near Huitzilac, Morelos when the attack occurred. They were headed to a naval campound when they were pursued by multiple vehicles with men firing at their U.S. diplomatic license plate armoured black Cruiser. The diplomatic vehicle had 152 bullet impact damage on it and the three men on the vehicle survived. One American was injured in the gunfire assault.
The Mexican naval officer traveling with the two Americans was able to call for backup and other Federal Police officers, including naval personal responded to the scene.
The Federal Police officers involved told investigators at the scene that they thought they were pursuing kidnappers. All the officers in the gunfire assault were dressed in civilian clothes and were driving unmarked personal vehicles. When they were ordered to report to a federal police and ministry government building for further investigation of the shooting, the 14 officers arrived in full Federal Police uniforms and drove their assigned squad cars.
Federal investigators say, by arriving in uniform and showing up with their squads drew a red flag and it was later determined that the accused were trying to obstruct the investigation.
The 14 Federal Police officers were charged with three counts of attempted murder and damage to property, including giving false information and an administrative worker at the Tlalpan Federal Police station was charged with unauthorised use of weapon exclusively used by the military.
The officers charged are also accused of having ties to organized crime.

"Common Ground" Key To Comprehensive Immigration Reform In U.S.

U.S. House Speaker, John Boehner ready to deal with immigration reform.

By H. Nelson Goodson
November 9, 2012

Washington, D.C - On Thursday, John Boehner (R-OH) the U.S. House Speaker told ABC's Diane Sawyer during an interview, that resolving the issue of immigration reform has been long overdue and should be dealt with and that he is confident that a "common ground" could be reach with Democrats and President Barack H. Obama on comprehensive Immigration reform. But, House republicans continue to press for secure borders and to enforce immigration laws before passing any comprehensive immigration reform that would be deemed as an amnesty bill to more than 12 million of undocumented immigrants living in the U.S.
An estimated 10 percent of the total popular vote on Tuesday's election were Hispanic, which for the first time in history, the Latino voting power reached a double digit. At least 75 percent or 14 million of those Latinos voted for Obama. For a majority of Latinos that voted, immigration reform became an important issue, since most have relatives or know someone that is undocumented and residing in the country.
Immigration reform rallies were staged on Thursday by groups and organizations throughout the country and in front of the White House calling for immigration reform and for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, including the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to stop separating families.
Under the Obama administration, about 4 million undocumented immigrants have been deported, including U.S. Veterans who honorably served in various wars and conflicts.
In 2011, ICE reported that 3,000 U.S. Veterans were facing deportation proceedings. Most of those undocumented immigrants deported by the Obama administration were for minor crimes.
U.S. Veterans that have been deported can only return as Americans upon death. The U.S. Government provides a plot and marker. Their VA benefits for injuries and other illnesses are automatically revoked once deported, thus violating Congressional laws passed to care for injured Veterans.
The first support house (safehouse) for deported U.S. Veterans was created in October at El Rosarito Beach, Baja California, Mexico by deported Veterans. The U.S. Deported Veteran Support House continues to operate in a Tijuana suburb.
Those Veterans seeking support at the safehouse will be able to get spiritual advice, shelter, food, assistance in getting a local Mexican ID. They will also have access to a phone and Internet, but operation costs such as rent, utilities, including light, gas and Internet have made it difficult to operate without needed donations.

For more information about the safehouse you can contact deported U.S. Army Veteran Hector Barajas at Banishedveteran@yahoo.com or at U.S. area code 626-569-549. The e-mail could also be use to send donated funds through PayPal.

Dozens Of Latinos In Milwaukee Called For Immigration Reform And To Stop Separating Families

Hispanics held an immigration ralley in front of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement offices in downtown.

By H. Nelson Goodson
November 8, 2012

Milwaukee, WI - On Thursday, dozens of Hispanics held a rally in front of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) offices on E. Knapp St. in the downtown area. The rally was organized by Voces de la Frontera, an immigrant and workers right non-profit organization in conjunction with another organization called FIRM. FIRM members help organize rallies throughout the nation after President Barack H. Obama won reelection on Tuesday.
Obama on his victory speech to the nation once again promised immigration reform. But any future immigration reform would have to be approved by the Republican controlled U.S. House of Representatives. Unless border security is first initiated (closed the outlining borders) and enforced to eliminate an influx of undocumented immigrants within the U.S. borders, Congress won't pass a comprehensive immigration reform bill.
Obama's reelection does secure the deferred action policy for millions of DREAMers for the next four years, which is already in affect.
An estimated 10 percent of registered Hispanic voters voted on Tuesday, Obama received at least 75 percent of those votes. Latinos made history on Tuesday and for the first time their numbers reached double digits in political voting power.
Those holding the rally in Milwaukee called for immigration reform and for ICE, including the Obama administration to stop separating families.
Under the Obama administration, about 4 million undocumented immigrants have been deported including U.S. Veterans who honorably served in various wars and conflicts.
In 2011, ICE reported that 3,000 U.S. Veterans were facing deportation proceedings. Most of those undocumented immigrants deported by the Obama administration were for non-serious crimes.
Veterans was created in in October at El Rosarito Beach, Baja California, Mexico by deported Veterans. The U.S. Deported Veteran Support House continues to operate in a Tijuana suburb.

November 8, 2012

Milwaukee, WI - The Tropical Latino Club owner has offered a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a suspect or suspects involved in last Sunday's beating death of Mariano J. Lopez, 45. Police are looking for multiple suspects in the Lopez homicide and brutal assault of Toby Villarreal, 37, from Greenfield after leaving the Tropical Latino bar.
Lopez of Franklin was fatally assaulted at the 600 block of S. 5th St. A nearby  surveillance camera recorded the beating and possible suspects involved.
His friend Villarreal survived, but suffered three broken ribs and a collapsed lung. Lopez later died at a local hospital.
Both Lopez and Villarreal were jumped and beaten by a group of suspects shortly after stepping in to defuse an argument between his female cousin and a man inside the Tropical Latino. After Lopez left the bar around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, the suspects attacked Lopez and Villarreal outside the bar, according to police.

Obama won Wisconsin with 53% of the vote and Romney received 46%. Ohio also went to Obama sealing Romney's fate early in the night after the polls closed. Romney won't seek another political seat, ending his political career.
Obama with 303 ECV also won the popular vote as well.
Democrats kept control of the U.S. Senate by 51, 2 Independent and 44 Republicans.

In Arizona, Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, 80, easily won re-election for a six term with more than 53% of the vote. Arpaio, is a self proclaim immigration enforcement policy and law enforcer.
Also, Pinal County Sheriff Paul Bebeu, 43, (R) in Arizona won a second term with more than 53% of the vote. Both Colorado and Washington voters approved recreational use of marijuana challenging federal laws.
In Puerto Rico, a two part non binding referendum asking if voters wanted change or status quo and 54% of Puerto Rican voted for change while 46% wanted to remain as status quo. About 61% of Puerto Ricans voted for statehood, while 33% voted for a Sovereign free association and 5% voted for independence.
The U.S. Congress would have to approve statehood for Puerto Rico making it the 51st state.

Valenzuela-Rodriguez, A U.S. Marine Veteran Voted In Colorado Despite Being Considered A Non-citizen By DHS

Jesus Manuel Valenzuela-Rodriguez

A Vietnam U.S Veteran considered a non-citizen by the U.S. Homeland Security Department voted in Tuesday's election.

By H. Nelson Goodson
November 6, 2012

Colorado Springs, CO - On Tuesday, U.S. Marine Veteran Jesus Manuel Valenzuela-Rodriguez, 59, and his brother a U.S. Army Veteran, Valente Valenzuela, 62, both in full dress uniform walked into the First Methodist Church in Colorado Springs for Valenzuela-Rodriguez to cast his vote. Valenzuela-Rodriguez had vowed to vote, despite being considered a non-citizen by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and an attempt to oust him from the voter registration list in Colorado.
The Valenzuela brothers had faced deportation to Mexico, but their immigration cases have been placed on hold due to DHS inability to prove they are not U.S. Citizens. Valenzuela-Rodriguez could face a felony charge for voting, if the DHS decides to prosecution him. Although, it's unlikely DHS will prosecute because both the Valenzuela brothers are U.S. Citizens, eventhough they hold a permanent residency card.
They have challenged the DHS non-citizen status concerning their citizenship afforded to them by their late mother who was a U.S. Citizen born in New Mexico.
On September 12, Valenzuela-Rodriguez was notified by the El Paso County Office of the Clerk and Recorder that DHS had sent a list of registered voting non-citizens to the Colorado Secretary of State, which included his name.
Valenzuela-Rodriguez challenged the DHS non-citizen notification with the State of Colorado by providing documents that he is an U.S. Citizen and succeeded to be recognized as an American by the state clearing his way to exercise his right to vote in Colorado.
"The State of Colorado says I am a Citizen of America and I can vote. I showed all my documents and they took copies, and for once in 7 years of hell, I was told welcome home you are a Citizen of America. So now, I will exercise my rights and who stops me, will have to answer. For, I am an American Citizen," Valenzuela-Rodriguez posted on his Brothers Valenzuela Facebook page.
On October 12, both Valenzuela-Rodriguez and his brother Valente from Colorado addressed and spoke about the issue of the banished U.S. Veterans at the University of Texas El Paso Campus in El Paso, Texas. The Valenzuelas who have become advocates for deported Veterans had faced the threat of deportation themselves for misdemeanor crimes, but were able to stay in the U.S., until their immigration case gets resolved. The Valenzuelas were born in Mexico to a U.S. Citizen mother from New Mexico. Their father was a Mexican national, but later legalised and became a U.S. Citizen. By birth right to a U.S. Citizen in another country, their born children become automatically U.S. Citizens, according to federal law. Also, they have lived in the U.S. for more than ten years, thus certifying their citizenship.
Since then, they have learned of hundreds of Veterans facing deportation or who have been deported regardless of their contributions and honorable service in the armed forces protecting the freedom of Americans and the U.S. Constitution.
In 2011, the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) figures confirmed that at least 3,000 War Veterans were in process of being deported to their native countries.
The Valenzuela brothers have put forth the issue of the deportation of U.S. Veterans in the national political ring, despite President Barack H. Obama and former Governor Mitt Romney's exclusion of the issue in their debates or in their current campaigns for U.S. President.
On October 13, a group of U.S. Deported Veterans led by Army Veteran Hector Barajas opened the first U.S. Deported Veterans Support House (Safehouse) in El Rosarito Beach, Baja California, Mexico to help other deported Veterans from the U.S. ajust to being dislocated and facing removal trauma caused by DHS and the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement when separating families.

22-year-old Man Arrested For Assaulting Milwaukee Deputy Sheriff During Sobriety Test

Matthew Sleider and Brandon Bell

Deputy attacked by passenger of vehicle while conducting a field sorbriety test on the driver.

By H. Nelson Goodson
November 4, 2012

Milwaukee, WI - On early Friday, both Matthew Sleider, 23, of Wauwatosa and Brandon Bell, 22, of Milwaukee were arrested for multiple charges after they were pulled over on a routine traffic stop by Milwaukee County Deputy Sheriff Doug Burmeister. Deputy Burmeister, a 17-year veteran in the sheriff's department stopped a vehicle around 2:22 a.m. on Friday heading westbound on I-94 near the S. 27th St. exit that Sleider was driving.
Upon close inspection, Burmeister smelled a strong odor of alcohol coming from the driver's side and ordered Sleider to exit the vehicle for a field sobriety test. While Deputy Burmeister was conducting the sobriety test, Bell, the passenger of the vehicle got out and attacked Burmeister from behind. Milwaukee, WI - On Thursday, a Milwaukee County Jury found Eduardo Ivañez, 17, aka, "Smokey or Lalo" guilty of two felony counts for 1st-degree intentional homicide and hiding a corpse for the April 13, cold blooded and brutal murder of Stephanie Romero, 15, at 2512 W. Rogers St.
Ivañez, an alleged gang member had confessed to police that he had sex with Romero then strangled her until she became unresponsive and afterwards stabbed her while she was still alive inside a vacant house on Rogers St.
Ivañez will be sentenced on December 13 and is facing life in prison without parole and an additional 15 years. The criminal complaint states, Ivañez and Romero went to the house to drink and have sex. Once inside the house, she refused Ivañez sexual advances, which triggered the deadly sexual assault on Romero.
On April 13, an accomplice and two relatives of Ivañez later showed up at the vacant house, which was used by teenagers to smoke marijuana and drink both beer and alcohol. They asked Ivañez what had happened after noticing Romero on the floor bleeding from her face. Ivañez told them that Romero began to yell and scream at him and wouldn't stop. He then kicked and stomped Romero on the face and began to stab her several times in front of the teens. Ivañez and another suspect then dragged Romero's body to the bathroom.
Ivañez then noticed that Romero was still alive. He grabbed a knife again and then stabbed Romero in the chest, neck and left eye. Ivañez and the suspects left the house and took some items, including Romero's jewelry and cellphone.
Two days later, Ivañez who lived with his sister several houses from where Romero was killed decided to return to the house and moved Romero's body to an upstairs crawl space in the vacant house with the help of an accomplice. Apparently, Ivañez was showing off Romero's body and the homicide he had committed to other teenagers before Romero's body was found a week later by a different group of teenagers who told their school principal about the body. The principal then notified police.
Before the body was found, one of the suspects with Ivañez began to caress Romero's breasts because he became bored and Ivañez thought about having intercourse with Romero's body, according to the complaint.
Two juvenile suspects involved in Romero's death were referred to the juvenile court system for charges and a third suspect was released because the teenager left the vacant house and didn't participate in moving or hiding Romero's body, according to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office.
Some of Ivañez supporters soon after created a Facebook page to "Free Smokie" because they strongly believed he was innocent and the page also be a stage to engage in controversial comments leading to threats of fights, beatings and insults towards Romero's supporters seeking justice for the victim.

Waukesha, WI - On Thursday, the Waukesha County District Attorney's Office charged Francisco "K-Rod" Rodriguez, 30, of Coral Springs, Florida, a relief pitcher for the Milwaukee Brewers with one misdemeanor count for disorderly conduct stemming from a domestic abuse case, which was amended from battery domestic abuse also a misdemeanor. Rodriguez allegedly punched, kicked and beat his 23-year-old fiancé on September 18, according to the criminal complaint.
The complaint stated that Rodriguez beat his fiancé after she accused him of cheating. His fiancé who has a child from Rodriguez called the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department from their Town of Wales residence. When deputies arrived at the residence, they found Rodriguez' fiancé crying and hiding in a closet. Deputies reported that the battered woman had suffered a noise bleed, had her hair pulled, injured an upper left shoulder blade, had a bruised upper left thigh, also injured her left hand near her wrist after Rodriguez threw her to the floor and then began to repeatedly kick her, according to the complaint.
Rodriguez than dragged and forced her into his truck and drove around the vicinity. She pleaded with Rodriguez to take her to the hospital because she couldn't move her arm and was suffering from injuries, but Rodriguez went back home and attempted to take away phones to keep her from calling 911.
The fiancé went upstairs and called 911 for help. Rodriguez was arrested by deputies.
Two days later, she recanted her story to sheriff investigators and didn't want to testify. She blamed herself for the altercation with Rodriguez. She later left the country and went back to Velenzuela.
The Waukesha County District Attorney's Office decided to amended the charges and charged Rodriguez with a lesser charge for disorderly conduct instead of battery domestic abuse. He was facing 9 months in jail and $10,000 in fines on the battery charge.
If convicted, Rodriguez is facing 90 days in jail and a $1,000 fine for the disorderly charge. He is expected back in court on November 12.
Rodriguez became a relief pitcher for the Brewers in 2011 after signing a contract. He is making $8M for 2012 as a free agent, according to the Brewers.
