Recall organizers had more than enough valid signatures to move forward with the Governor Walker and Lt. Governor Kleefisch recall elections.

Madison - On Thursday, the state Government Accountabilty Board (GAB) confirmed that more than enough recall valid signatures have been submitted to recall the governor. The GAB will meet on Friday morning to officially certify recall elections for both Republicans, Governor Scott Walker and Lieutenant Rebecca Kleefisch.
The GAB released the final numbers, recall organizers had turned in 931,053 signatures, which 26,114 were found invalid and 4,001 were duplicates and had been voided leaving a total of 900,938 valid signatures to recall Governor Walker.
The GAB also confirmed that Lt. Governor Kleefisch had a total of 809,000 valid recall signatures from 842,854 submitted, which 29,601 were found invalid and 4,263 were duplicates and were voided.
The GAB needed more than 540,000 valid signatures each for Governor Walker and Lt. Governor Kleefisch to certify a recall election.
On Friday, potential candidates for Wisconsin Governor and Lt. Governor will begin to circulate and collect the required 2,000 nomination signatures, including 400 signatures for Senate candidates. Candidates have until 5:00 p.m. on April 10 to gather the signatures needed inorder to get on the ballot. Both Governor Walker, Lt. Kleefisch and Republican Senators being recall will automatically be on the ballot, according to the GAB.
The recall elections have been targeted for the Primary Election on May 8. A primary election will be held only for any political party and offices for which more than one candidate qualifies for the ballot, according to the GAB. The General Election is expected for June 5.
