Otriz Files Campaign Registration Statement For Milwaukee County 12th District Supervisor Bid

Milwaukee - On Friday, Sylvia Ortiz, 33, filed a Campaign Registration Statement with the Milwaukee County Election Commission and registered her committee as Friends of Sylvia Ortiz for her 2012 bid to run for 12th District Milwaukee County Supervisor. Ortiz plans to challenge current County Supervisor Peggy Romo West, who ran unopposed in 2008 for her second four-year term.
On Monday, Ortiz said, she wants to improve the quality of life for the entire district and fight to bring the needed resources to the 12th District. She is the proud daughter of Jose Ortiz, a well known Evangelist and live all her life in the district.
Ortiz, a Real Estate Broker owns her own business. She works and resides in Lincoln Village, which is part of the predominately South Side Hispanic district.
Ortiz graduated from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and earned a B.A. degree in Political Science.
