Chicago Consul General Arriaga awaits Senate ratification as Mexican Embassador to Peru.

Mexico City - On Thursday, the federal Mexican Senate received the official nominations of Eduardo Arnal Palomera as Consul for the Chicago Mexican Consulate and Manuel Rodríguez Arriaga as the Mexican Embassador to Peru. Both Palomera and Arriaga were named to the positions by Mexican President Felipe Calderon.
The Mexican Congress needs to ratify Palomera and Arriaga to their new positions. Palomera is the current Consul for the Mexican Denver Consulate and Arriaga is the Consul at the Chicago Mexican Consulate.
Other nominations included, Carlos Eugenio García de Alba Zepeda as Mexican Embassador to Ireland and the following Mexican Consuls to Consulates, David Renato Nájera Rivas in Guangzhou, Republic of China; Carlos Manuel Sada Solana in New York; Andrés Imre Chao Ebergenyi in Denver, Colorado and David Figueroa Ortega in Los Angeles, California.
The nominations were submitted to the Senate's Exterior Relations and the North American Exterior Relations Commissions for review and confirmation.
