Juarez Cartel And La Linea Druglord Arrested By Mexican Federal Police

Mexico City, Mexico (HNNUSA) - On Sunday, the federal Public Safety Secretary (SSP) announced the arrest of Luis Carlos Vásquez Barragán, 39, aka, "El 20," an alleged high ranking leader of the Juárez Cartel and of La Linea. Barragán was arrested in Juárez by the Mexican federal police, SSP reported.
La Linea gang is the armed enforcers for the Juárez Cartel headed by Vicente Carrillo Fuentes, aka, "El Viceroy."
Barragán was in charge of finances and payroll for the La Linea criminal organization. He is accused of arranging the transport, smuggling, and trafficking large quantities of marihuana and cocaine into the U.S.
Barragán was in charge of ordering the deaths of rival gang members and managed the Juárez Cartel operations in the state of Chihuahua. Members of La Liñea gang have been previously charged in connection with the massacre of 15 people, including students in early February in Juárez during a birthday party. Some of them and affiliated Barrio Azteca gang members were charged in the March 13th shooting deaths of three people, including a U.S. Consulate worker in Juárez.
He ranked in the same leadership level in La Linea as Juan Pablo Ledezma, aka, "El JL" and Armando Corral, according to Mexican authorities.
He is originally from Nicolás Bravo, municipality of Madero in Chihuahua.
